Testimonial video: giving a professional integration program a human face

A back-to-work support program can change someone’s life, but that’s hard to convey
in a leaflet. That’s why Initiative Alpes Provence asked BMAX to turn the journeys of
three beneficiaries of the “Et pourquoi pas moi” (“Why not me”) program into a short,
human testimonial video, filmed alongside Pro Attitude, the program’s coaching and
training partner.

The “Et pourquoi pas moi” program, in short

“Et pourquoi pas moi” is a 6-month remobilization program built around workshops and
one-on-one support from professional integration advisors, for people receiving France’s
RSA welfare benefit. Run by Initiative Alpes Provence, it relies on Pro Attitude for
professional coaching and training.

On the ground, that means very concrete stories. Jérôme, a former business co-manager,
is now an agricultural drone pilot at Dragon Drone. Malika joined a work-integration
contract at the Ressourcerie de Haute Provence, working toward a social and educational
support qualification. Delaine found retail work again after being made redundant. These
are the three stories the video needed to make visible, alongside the professionals who
supported them along the way.

Why a testimonial video instead of a written report

An activity report lists numbers. A testimonial video shows a face, a voice that
hesitates and then finds its footing, a pride you can hear directly. According to
Wyzowl’s annual State of Video Marketing research, around 89% of people say a video has
convinced them about a product, service, or initiative, well ahead of text alone. And per
Nielsen’s Global Trust in Advertising report, 83% of consumers trust a genuine testimonial
more than a standard institutional message.

For a program like “Et pourquoi pas moi”, that matters: hearing Aline Dagron, President
of Pro Attitude, explain how she guides a participant from “who I am, what I want” to a
concrete action plan, or Marion Pérénon and François Chaïrat, both professional
integration advisors at Initiative Alpes Provence, describe the isolation some
beneficiaries face, makes the program tangible in a way a spreadsheet never will.

In practice, BMAX handled the on-site filming (beneficiaries and professionals), the
editing, and the structuring of the story into several short sequences that can be used
separately depending on distribution needs.

Your questions about institutional testimonial videos

Can an organization like Initiative Alpes Provence use this video for a general
assembly or with its funding partners?

That’s a common use for this kind of format, but BMAX doesn’t get involved in the final
distribution: that stays a decision for the commissioning organization, based on its own
internal or funder-facing communication needs.

How long does it take to produce a testimonial video like this?
For a short format with several speakers (beneficiaries and professionals), plan for
roughly one day of filming and 1 to 2 weeks of editing, depending on the number of
sequences and versions needed.

Is this kind of video only for private companies?
No. Nonprofits, integration structures, local authorities, and public-private programs
like “Et pourquoi pas moi” have exactly the same need to make their work visible and
understandable, often with a tighter budget: a short, human format fits that context
particularly well.

Giving people back the pride to tell their story

One word came up again and again across the testimonials collected: pride. A
well-made video doesn’t manufacture that pride, it simply gives it room to exist. That’s
the whole point of video support on this kind of project: capture without distorting,
structure without flattening.

BMAX also supports tourism and retail businesses with similar needs
(corporate and institutional video), along with
digital communication training for teams who want to produce
this kind of content in-house. See more work on BMAX Studio.
